"Chunky Monkey" Peanut Butter French Toast Banana Sandwich

Sometimes deliciousness comes in the form of just peanut butter, sometimes it’s a combo of very tasty ingredients coming together. This morning I found some of that winning combo that came together for my inventive French Toast that I’ve very affectionately named "Chunky Monkey French Toast" which  really is half peanut butter sandwich, half stuffed French Toast. After all, the recipe utilizes chunky peanut butter with always tasty French Toast. This made for a very interesting tasting morning to say the least.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Slices of bread
  • 2 Eggs (for coating the bread)
  • Smuckers All Natural Peanut Butter
  • Jiffy Chunky Peanut Butter
  • 1 Banana
  • Brown Sugar
  • Canola Oil (for frying the bananas)
  • Maple Syrup

First you want to coat each side of the two slices of bread that you'll use for the French Toast with a thin layer of Smuckers All Natural Peanut Butter or a smooth peanut butter of your choice.

Then you want to go through the process of coating the peanut buttered bread with egg for your French Toast.

After you pan fry both the egg coated slices for about 5 minutes on each side( above), you basically slather the Jiffy Chunky Peanut Butter on one side of the bread as if you were making the French Toast into a sandwich (below).

Cut the banana into slices and sprinkle with a small amount of brown sugar (above) and pan fry them for about 10 minutes for taste (below).

Finally put the banana slices on the side with chunky peanut butter and sandwich everything together into a French Toast sandwich and then this is the best part.....drizzle the whole thing with very sweet maple syrup.

Wow, for something so tasty and good, this was so easy to make. Not only is it quick and easy to make but it's a very nice twist on French Toast for breakfast or even a sandwich for lunch for that matter (consume with some chips of your choice)! If you're eating this for breakfast, combine this with scrambled eggs and sausage like I did and you have a breakfast of champions fit for a weight lifter or somebody that needs an extra boost of energy for that athletic performance of a lifetime. Just be sure to lay on the couch for an hour after and let this wonderful creation digest. Heck, you don't even need to do anything the rest of the day because you'd definitely find this to be a highlight. I'd definitely very highly recommend this to anyone though especially someone that loves peanut butter as I do!

  16. Mjskit, thanks for commenting. It certainly is a mouthful! You might be saying.. why did he call it "Chunky Monkey"? Chunky is because it utilizes chunky peanut butter and Monkey stems from the fact that it uses bananas which of course we all know, monkeys love. :)

Ruth, you gotta try this right away. I've been looking for some time to make it again this week but haven't had any so I'm anxiously awaiting the minute I do because I'm eating it for lunch with some potato chips.

By the way, thanks so much for stopping by you guys, love both of your sites and because your so kind to comment and show support, I've added both of your sites to my Crazie Good Blog list at the top as I've done with the rest that have commented on this.

  24. Azlin and Hester Casey! Love your comments about Elvis! Made me laugh. The King did have a thing for peanut butter and banana sandwiches as I've heard. I'm really glad I had the inspiration to make a twist on that well known sandwich so I could share it with all of you awesome guys. Thanks for stopping by and check back later on today for another twist, this time with dessert... something involving Rocky Road Fudge... should be interesting.
